To connect the Aconex integration with Acuite, we will need:

  1. API keys for Aconex and Aconex Field (if applicable)

  2. A user account in Aconex and Aconex Field that the API will connect to

1. Requesting an API key:

You will need to contact Oracle to request API keys for your Aconex account. Please request the following:

Aconex: an API key for Aconex Core.

Aconex Field: an API key for Aconex Field

There will be a separate API key for each.

Oracle may ask you for your organisation name and contact details. This is the person that is associated with the API account in Aconex. If you are setting up a specific user for the API in Aconex (recommended, see part 2 below), these are the contact details for your company.

Note: if you are setting up multiple regions, there may be separate API keys for Aconex, for different regions.

2. An Aconex login to be used for the integration

ACONEX:

It is recommended that you set up a new user account in Aconex, to be used for the integration. This account will need to have access to all projects and have full admin rights. This is done once in Aconex, at a licence level. This will give access to the Acuite API to download RFI's and other document types (as configured) for all projects.

Please let us know the login details including the email address used, and the password. It is recommended that you use an email address from your company, so that you have control of the integration user account, including changing the password where required. We will set up the integration in Acuite for you, and may use your password to log into your Aconex account if required, for troubleshooting during the implementation phase. After that, feel free to change the password as required.

Please provide to us:

  • Email address for the Aconex API user account

  • Password

ACONEX FIELD:

The setup of the Aconex Field integration is done for each project in Aconex, which is different to the setup of Aconex Core, which is only done once. Each project in Aconex Field will need to have the Acuite API user invited to the project and set up with the appropriate permissions.

  1. To set up the Aconex Field integration you will need to ensure that the user account used for the API must be invited to the project in Aconex Field. This must be done for each project that is to be sync'ed with Acuite. We recommend that you choose a few projects that are to be set up initially in Acuite and configure these as follows.

  2. The user account must be given "Inspector Administrator" permissions. This can be done in Aconex someone with Aconex administrator rights for that project. The permissions for Aconex Field are set for each project. In Aconex, you will need to select the project name. Go into the "Field" column and click Project > Settings.

  • Ensure that the Aconex account used for the API has been set up with Inspector Administrator credentials.

It is recommended that these instructions are added to any future project project setup documentation so that this step is not missed.
