Assign a Competency to a Company

You can require all workers from a company, such as subcontractors, to meet specific competency standards.

  1. At the licence level, click System Settings

  2. Click Companies

  3. Click Manage Competency next to the desired company

  4. Click Assign Competency Requirements

  5. Select a competency from the list on the left to assign it to a company. You can do this for your company and/or other companies.

  6. The competency will move to the right once selected

  7. Next, specify whether this competency is required for a single project or for all projects the company is involved in. Select "All Projects" or specific ones.

Assign a Competency to a User

You can require specific workers from a company, such as subcontractors, to meet specific competency standards. This can be done at the licence level (System Settings > Companies) as well as the project level directly (Project Settings > Companies).

The below example is perform at the licence level.

  1. At the licence level, click System Settings

  2. Click Companies

  3. Search for the company you are interested in

  4. Click the arrow to display the company users

  5. Click Edit next to the desired user

  6. Click the Competencies tab. If you’ve already assigned a competency to a company, it will be listed in the competency details

  7. Click Add Competency Details or Add Further Competency Details

  8. In the drop down menu, select the competency you want to add.

  9. You don’t need to upload any details at this stage since you’re assigning a competency requirement to a person. You can upload the details later. Click Save Changes

  10. You’ll see that the competency has been added, but no details have been uploaded. If you’ve made this addition in the system settings menu, it will apply to this person's details for all projects they are involved in.

  11. Once finished, click Save

Assign a Competency to a Trade

You can assign a competency to all companies that have been assigned a trade.

  1. At the licence level, click System Settings

  2. Click Trades

  3. Click Assign Competency Requirements next to the desired trade

  4. Select a competency from the list on the left to assign it to a trade

  5. The competency will move to the right once selected. Once finished, click Ok.

  6. Next, specify whether this competency is required for a single project or for all projects the company is involved in. Select "All Projects" or specific ones.

  7. Any company with this trade assigned will now be required to have this competency. For example, for the company listed below (Complete Carpentry), if you click the "Edit Company" button, you’ll see that since they are assigned the trade "Carpentry," they are also required to meet the competency requirement (National Certificate in Carpentry).
