Discover the widgets mostly used with Financials data and how to configure them

Financials widgets in Acuite provide key insights into your project's financial performance. These widgets display essential data such as budget vs. actuals, cost variances, cash flow, and forecasts, helping you track financial health at a glance.

Customisable Cost Table (select rows/columns)

In the Acuite widget library, search for this widget to access a fully customizable blank cost table that lets you adjust rows and columns, including options for current and previous reporting periods, as well as variations.

How to configure

  1. In the General tab:

    1. Title - Provide a clear, descriptive title for your widget that will appear on the dashboard.

    2. Help Text - If necessary, add extra details such as links to external documentation or information about the widget or data source.

    3. Show KPI Rating? - Check the box to automatically display a RAG score, calculated based on the KPI limits (if configured in your license).

    4. Widget Title link - If needed, choose a target link for when a user clicks on the widget title. It can direct to a specific dashboard, division, or external URL. Select None if you don't want to assign any link.

  2. In the Configuration tab:

    1. Header Field - You can display multiple values beneath the widget title to easily track important data.

      1. Click Add Header Field

      2. Select an existing financial field or write a custom formula

      3. Label - Provide the name of this field

      4. Display type - Define the formatting for the value (e.g., money, decimals, etc.).

      5. Once you’re done, click Go Back to return to the table configuration, or click Save if you've completed the widget configuration.

    2. General settings

      1. Currency Negative Number format - Indicate how the format should appear for negative values

      2. Column fixed width - You can set a specific width to adjust all the columns, which is useful when displaying multiple columns with large values.

    3. Row - You can display as many row as needed

      1. Click Add Row

      2. Select an existing financial field or write a custom formula

      3. Label - Provide the name of this field

      4. Display type - Define the formatting for the value (e.g., money, decimals, etc.).

      5. Highlight this row? - Check the box to make the field larger and more noticeable.

      6. Enable drilldowns? (if available) - Check the box to allow the system to provide access to detailed values.

      7. Variation Highlight - Choose whether you want to display a red or green arrow to indicate financial movement, such as an increase in costs showing a red arrow pointing up or a decrease in margin showing a red arrow pointing down.

      8. Show a secondary value? - Check the box if you want to display another value alongside the one you are configuring (e.g., percentage). You can configure this field in the same way as the primary one.

      9. Conditional formatting - You can set rules to apply specific styles that highlight the value when it meets certain conditions. See article about Conditional Formatting

      10. Once you’re done, click Go Back to return to the table configuration, or click Save if you've completed the widget configuration

  3. Column - You can display as many column as needed

    1. Click Add Column


    2. Column Type - Specify the reporting period you want to see value from

    3. Label - Provide the name of this field

    4. Show the date with this column? - Check the box if you want to display the month and year of the reporting period beneath the column label

    5. Cell alignment - Indicate whether the value should be aligned to the left, center, or right.

    6. Column fixed width - You can set a specific width to adjust the column, which is useful when displaying multiple columns with large values.

    7. Once you’re done, click Go Back to return to the table configuration, or click Save if you've completed the widget configuration

  4. In the Filters tab, you can apply additional filters to display data specific to a selected group of projects, among other criteria

Customisable Metric (Cost)

In the Acuite widget library, look for the card visual widget that can showcase up to four customizable cost metrics, emphasizing changes from the previous reporting period. Variations are illustrated with green, orange, and red indicator lines.

How to configure

  1. In the General tab:

    1. Title - Provide a clear, descriptive title for your widget that will appear on the dashboard.

    1. Widget variations (based on your selection, some fields will vary):

      1. Single Metric (with optional variations) - You can display data from a specific field along with the corresponding variations (either from Previous and/or Original). See example below

      2. Multiple Metrics (arranged vertically) - You can display data from up to four fields along with variations from the Previous only. See example below:

      3. Multiple Metrics (arranged horizontally) - You can display data from up to four fields along with variations from the Previous only. See example below:

      4. Multiple Metrics (arranged in a grid) - You can display data from up to four fields. No variations. See example below:

    2. Show as at date - Show the final day of the month for the selected reporting period.

    3. Conditional formatting - You can set rules to apply specific styles that highlight the value when it meets certain conditions. See article about Conditional Formatting

    10. Previous Variation Tolerance - Choose 1, 10, 100, 1000, or None. When selected, any variation below this amount will be displayed as No Change.

    11. Show Variation from Original - Check the box to show the variance from original

    12. Show a Secondary Metric - Check the box if you want to display another value alongside the one you are configuring (e.g., percentage). You can configure this field in the same way as the primary one.

    13. Highlight this row? - Check the box to make the field larger and more noticeable.

    18. Show Secondary metric align right - Check the box so the secondary value is aligned right.

  3. In the Filters tab, you can apply additional filters to display data specific to a selected group of projects, among other criteria
